The real estate sector expects to withdraw the citizenship price of $ 1 million for the householder to 250 thousand dollars for increase foreign sales. The real estate sector was revitalized with a residential campaign of 20-year maturity starting on February 1st led by Real Estate Housing and GYODER. Within the scope of the campaign that reactivate the purchases that domestic buyers are waiting, GYODER has sold 2 billion 100 million TL in a month while Real Estate Housing REIT has sold 2 billion 750 million in a period of nearly 1.5 months.
While the campaign was being held for the domestic buyer, citizenship right was given to persons who bought $ 1 million residence for attracting the sale of housing to foreign. Despite this arrangement, there has been no increase in real estate purchases of foreigners in Turkey. Representatives of the real estate sector predict that foreigners will increase their real estate purchases from Turkey by reducing the limit of 1 million dollars to get citizenship. At the first stage, it is said that 250 thousand to 500 thousand houses can be sold in 1 year if foreigners who live in real estate of 250 thousand dollars are given a residence permit. Thus, it is possible to obtain an income of more than 100 billion dollars from the sale of real estate in one year.
Evaluating real estate purchases for foreigners in Turkey, Başarır Construction Chairman Alptekin Başarır said that foreigners have started to make purchases from the Anatolian side recently. He also said that giving citizenship is not very encouraging, despite the investment of $ 1 million.
