A Champion Rides Across Osmangazi Bridge

The national motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoğlu reached 400 kilometers in his trial for a speed record on Osmangazi Bridge.

The national motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoğlu reached 400 kilometers on the Osmangazi Bridge which is the biggest part of Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir Highway Project expected to be put in service by the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Before the ceremony, Kenan Sofuoğlu, a sportsman of Red Bull, reached 400 kilometers of speed and become the name who reached this speed with Kawasaki H2R motorcycle.

Kenan succeeded to reach 400 kilometers of speed with Kawasaki H2R on the day when the weather conditions are suitable. The speed Kenan achieved is approved as the highest speed done with H2R model by Kawasaki.

“I don’t think there will be another speedy ride as this on the bridge”

Kenan said that his supreme record was 380 kilometers of speed when he wanted this model from Kawasaki.

Without doing any modification, he just made some tiny arrangements without changing its original setting.

Kenan said: “In the last trials I reached 390 kilometer of speed. Toda, I passed this speed with 400 kilometer. I planned this ride on the day of ceremony however we had to catch the most suitable day conditions for the ride so we did it at 05.00 in the morning. I would like to thank President Erdoğan, the minister of transportation, marine affairs and communication Ahmet Arslan and the general manager of highways İsmail Kartal as they provided this opportunity to me. Furthermore, I send my sincere thanks to the engineers and workers of this bridges who supported me in this record trial”.

Kenan emphasized that there will be no other speedy pass on the bridge and said “we reach 300 kilometer of speed in the world championship organizations. 400 kilometer of speed is very high so reaching this speed was a dream for me. Thanks Allah I achieved this purpose. I am still the word leader champion. I want to be the 5th champion as well.”
