The record expectation in the housing sector is increasing. The sales figures reached in the first 8 months of the housing sector, which made a good entry to 2017, show that the figure of 1 million 341 thousand 453 units made last year is exceeded. The number of housing sold in the first 8 months of the year has reached to 890 thousand 430 with an increase of 7.68 percent compared to the same period of 2016 and has already delivered a new record for the end of the year. Nazmi Durbakayım, Chairman of the Istanbul Constructors' Association (İNDER), said: "The figure of 890,410 reached in the first 8 months should be seen as a clear sign that this year will be closed with a new record. Monthly average sales of around 120 thousand will be over 150 thousand towards the end of the year."
EFFECTIVENESS OF INCENTIVES
Özyurtlar Holding Chairman Tamer Özyurt stated that August figures show that the sector continues to be active. "The numbers of successive months are continuing to give morale to us. We can say that this uptrend will continue in the coming months and that 2017 will be completed successfully in terms of the sector ".
Demir Construction Chairman Hamit Demir stated that the economy continues to be the most reliable and profitable investment instrument of the locomotives of the real estate and construction sector and said that government support was effective in the first 8 months of sales. Demir added, "With the increasing investments of our industry and the contributions of the national and international events and fairs, Turkey has begun to prove to the world the superior power of real estate and construction. We can read this clearly in the figures disclosed."
FOREIGN SALES INCREASED BY 11.4 PERCENT
The number of houses sold in August was 120 thousand 198 with an increase of 4.75 percent compared to the same period of 2016. Housing sales made by foreigners also increased significantly. According to statistics of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), sales of foreign-owned housing increased by 11.4 percent compared to the same month last year and reached to 684 thousand. The first place in foreign residential sales took Istanbul with 524 residences. Istanbul with 376 houses Antalya, 103 houses with Yalova, 101 houses with Aydın, 100 houses with Bursa, 99 houses with Trabzon. In Turkey, mortgaged residential sales grew by 6.3 percent compared to the same month last year, rising to 38 thousand 743.
