Great support from the state to the damaged producer!  Some of the people of Mersin were damaged in the drinking water use barrage for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The state acted immediately. The Ministry of Environment and Urbanism offered all kinds of possibilities to those who moved to the village due to the Alaköprü barrage in Anamur, which was constructed to supply water for drinking and use to the TRNC. It is realized distribution to the rights holders by made 326 houses, 3 mosques for 300 people, 1 school with 16 classrooms, treatment facilities with the project price of TL 208 million for 326 families from the villages of Akine and Ormancik, Sarıağaç which affected by the construction of the barrage. Within the scope of the work carried out by the General Directorate of Construction Affairs under the Ministry, An agriculture settlement project was also prepared and tendered to ensure livelihoods of eligible families.

 

Every eligible citizen will be given an agricultural land suitable for the production of about 4.5 acres of strawberries. Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Environment and Urbanism, made a statement regarding the topic; “The needs of the migration villagers were also taken into consideration. Strawberries were being produced around the village, which was carried by farmers there. After the necessary investigations and examinations, it was determined that they could produce strawberries again after the move.”
