Residential Sales In Turkey Increased By 42.4 Percent

The number of houses sold last month increased by 18.7 percent compared to the previous month and by 42.4 percent compared to the same month last year.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has disclosed housing sales statistics for the month of July.

Accordingly, the number of residential units sold nationwide in July increased by 18.7 percent compared to the previous month. The number of housing increased by 42.4 percent compared to the same month last year was 115 thousand 869.

The highest share in the sale of housing was in İstanbul with 18 thousand 83 houses (15.6 percent). According to sales figures, Istanbul was followed by 11,669 housing sales (10,1 percent) and 6,250 housing sales (5.6 percent) in İzmir.

The cases where the number of residential sales is low are recorded as Ardahan with 8 houses, Hakkari with 17 houses and Şırnak with 41 houses.

Mortgage sales

In Turkey, mortgaged residential sales rose by 62.4 percent in July compared to the same month last year, rising to 38,555.

The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 33.3 percent. During the mortgage sales, Istanbul received 6,555 houses and the first order with 17 percent share. It was seen that Artvin had the highest share of mortgage sales in total housing sales with 49.3 percent.

In Turkey, the number of houses that changed hands in July as a result of other types of sales increased by 34.2 percent compared to the same month of last year and became 77 thousand 294.

53 thousand 949 houses sold for the first time

The number of houses sold for the first time in Turkey was 53 thousand 949, increasing by 42.6 percent compared to the same month last year in July.
