Alibeyköy-Eminönü Tram Will Carry 15 Thousand Passengers Per Hour
"We will facilitate the transportation of the citizens who visit the tramway Eyup Sultan, and the construction activities are going on well and we plan to finish it by the end of 2018 if there is no disruption", the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mevlut Uysal said these words when he visited Eyüp Sultan in November.
EMİNÖNÜ-ALİBEYKÖY TRAM LINE
The route starting from Eminönü bus stops passes along the route of Küçükpazar, Cibali, Fener, Balat, Ayvansaray, Feshane, Eyüp-Teleferik, Eyüp State Hospital, Silahtarağa Station and Sakarya District Station, Alibeyköy center, Alibeyköy metro station and ends in Alibeyköy Mobile Bus Station.
The duration of the journey will be about 35 minutes and will serve 30 cars in the planned 10-kilometer or even dual range. There will be a capacity of 114 thousand passengers per day and 14 stations with a length of 60 meters. In addition, tram vehicles that are completely unattended along the route will get their energy from a system embedded between two rails. The catenary power poles and associated overhead line energy cables which cause image pollution will not be used.
STATIONS TO BE INTEGRATED IN THE LINE
The Eminönü-Alibeyköy tram line is planned to be integrated with the planned lines at 7 different locations. The lines that are integrated are as follows:
"Kabataş-Bağcılar tram line (T1) Eminönü Station and City Lines Eminönü ferry docks with Eminönü Station, Hacıosman-Yenikapi Subway Line (M2) with Küçükpazar Station, Beylikdüzü-Söğütlüçeşme Metrobus line with Ayvansaray Station, planned Bayrampaşa -Eyüp Tramway line in Feshane Station with planned Kazlıçeşme-Söğütlüçeşme Metro Line with Silahtarağa Station, Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Subway Line (M7) with Alibeyköy Subway Station, Seyrantepe-Alibeyköy Subway Line with Alibeyköy Bus Station."
